The Geneva Public Library, located at 1043 G Street, was built in 1912 as a Carnegie Library. A 5,600 square foot addition was built in 1995, bringing the total square footage of the library to 7,600. The addition was funded by private donations and a Peter Kiewit Matching Grant of $75,000.

The Library is open Monday through Saturday for a total of 38 hours per week. The library is currently staffed by one full-time and two part-time employees, and the outside is maintained by the Secret Garden committee.

The Library maintains 27,700 volumes. Resources include books, magazines, videos, DVD’s, and books on cassette tape and CD. Music CD’s are also available. The library has 10 computers with wireless internet service, a fax machine and a copy machine. There are 3 meeting rooms available.

Activities include a story time for preschoolers, summer reading program and summer story hour.

The Fillmore County Genealogy Department is housed at the library.

The Library will be closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial day.

Summer Reading Program begins June 1 for anyone in Grades 1 - 6. Sign up at the Library!

Story Hour will be Wednesdays in July for 4 year olds through grade 6. Sign up at the Library!

The library is now participating in the Nebraskard program.

Library patrons now have access to Overdrive's downloadable Ebooks and audiobooks.
